What to expect?
New Patient Exam
A new patient exam typically lasts 1-2 hours depending on the complaint. It consists of a comprehensive history, physical exam, X-rays (if indicated), and treatment. A review of findings will be given at the next scheduled appointment where we will discuss more about treatment and answer any questions.
History
-
The appointment starts with taking a comprehensive history. Chiropractic is about treating the person as a whole. Getting a complete history helps me treat you and get to the root cause.
Physical Exam
-
I will start with a routine physical exam, then follow it with an exam that focuses on the spine, with particular attention given to the areas of complaint.
-
The exam typically includes a variety of assessments, such as range of motion, palpation, reflex and muscle strength, neurological, orthopedic, and functional movement tests.
Established Patient
After completing a new patient exam, visits will typically be 30 minutes. During a daily visit a short history will be take, range of motion is assessed, and then treatment given.
